Scientists breed skim milk-producing cow

Found this on Science Daily:

AUCKLAND, New Zealand, May 27 (UPI) -- Scientists in New Zealand have successfully bred a cow that produces skim milk and the firm behind the process said herds of the animals are on the horizon.

"She produces a normal level of protein in her milk but substantially less fat, and the fat she does produce has much more unsaturated fat," Snell said. "She also produces milk with very high levels of omega3 oils."
Of course it has to be the saturated fats, next we will have low fat cows...

Sorry for not updating for some time, just wanted to let you know I'm still around. My other half has been sick for some time but this really came to a climax this month. He's been too sick to work, well to do anything really so hes been at home with me. So, with taking care of him and the kids and trying to get everything done, pay the bills etc I have been very busy and frankly not in the state of mind to put too much thought into anything.

Heck, you know what they are like, even when not sick they are too distracting when around. ;)

Hes hoping to be back at work in another week but I dunno today he seemed to go backwards a little so we'll see. If he does then things should get back to normal and I'll be able to catch up on things here and around the house.

So yes I'm still around and anyone can find me online, no worries there I'm just not productive enough to be blogging much for another week or so.

Cheers :)

Happy 2nd Birthday Maya

This is a picture of my daughter Maya blowing out her candles. It was her second birthday last weekend. The cake is a flourless carob cake from the Nourishing Traditions book and I used a carob vienna icing from the failsafe cookbook. It was actually quite a nice cake, much better then I expected though the icing was too sweet.

Anyway just thought I'd share :)
